Knowledge Day in NCFD: regions face shortage of schools

On the Knowledge Day, the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD) has opened new schools and other educational institutions. However, the regions of the NCFD claim the large number of pupils and the shortage of places for them.

On the first day of the new school year, the Sunzha District of Ingushetia has opened two new schools for pupils, and five new schools are to be opened until the end of the year, stated Beslan Tsechoev, an adviser of the Ingush leader.

Opening of a new school in the village of Ordzhonikidzevskya has made it possible to introduce two-shift training instead of three-shift one, and opening of a new school in the village of Nesterovskaya to introduce one-shift training instead of two-shift one, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Yunus-Bek Evkurov, the leader of Ingushetia.

However, the republic faces an acute problem of shortage of schools. "At present, we have 116 schools and 46 kindergartens, including 5 privately owned. However, it is not enough," stated Ayup Ozdoev, the First Deputy Chairman of the Ingush Government. And he continued: "To eliminate the current deficit and normalize the situation with places, we need to open additional 92 schools and 131 kindergartens."
