In Moscow, picketers hand out 600 brochures "True Beslan"

In Moscow, participants of the picket, timed to the anniversary of the terror act at the Beslan School No. 1, have handed out about 600 leaflets "True Beslan" during their action. According to the organizers of the picket, the event was held without any incidents.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the siege of the Beslan School by terrorists.

On September 1, 2004, a grouping of terrorists seized 1128 hostages at the School No. 1 of Beslan. The special operation to free the hostages was completed only on September 3, 2004. 186 children and 148 adults fell victim to the terror act. 810 persons were injured.

Activists of the public action "Remember Beslan" have prepared for distribution the brochures with stories of hostages from the Beslan School and the results of the independent investigation into the circumstances of the terror act. On September 2, near the metro station "Ulitsa Devyatsot Pyatogo Goda", activists of the organization "Solidarity" held an action by unfolding on a street a poster with photos of the victims of the terror act. Marina Litvinovich, the organizer of the website "Remember Beslan", and the activists handed out the brochures "True Beslan" on the street.

"We treat the results of the official investigation as false... On our website 'Remember Beslan', we present stories of hostages that contradict the version presented by the authorities," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Marina Litvinovich.

Earlier, the organizers of the action "Remember Beslan" have reported that they receive reports on blocking of the website in some Russian regions.

"I'm sure that our website is being blocked, since the authorities are not satisfied with its content, in particular, with the information provided to us by the very hostages that contradicts the official version of the tragedy that happened at the school," Marina Litvinovich has explained. The activist has stated at present, she and her supporters are preparing documents for submission to the court in connection with the blocking of the website.
