Man killed in Dagestan was involved in shelling of law enforcers, NAC reports
Radjab Mustafaev, a local resident, who was killed on September 2 in the outskirts of Makhachkala, was involved in the 2009 shelling of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for the Republic of Dagestan (RD), and law enforcers found a pistol and grenades with him. This was reported by the information centre of the Russian National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC).
On September 2, in the Makhachkala village of Semender, policemen shot and killed a man who, according to them, opened fire on them when they tried to check his car. He was identified as Radjab Mustafaev, an active accomplice of militants, stated a source from the law enforcement bodies.
The NAC confirms the information on the preliminary identification of the killed man. According to the law enforcers, Radjab Mustafaev, born in 1978, used to be an accomplice of the "Kadar" and "Makhachkala" militant groupings, and he was involved in the shelling of the Dagestani MIA's employees in the village of Semender in July 2009.
It should be noted that today's morning, the counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime was introduced in the Kirov District of Makhachkala. Law enforcers are carrying out activities to identify militants and their accomplices.
