OSCE observation mission registers fire from Rostov Region in direction of Ukraine

Members of the OSCE observation mission engaged in monitoring of the Russian checkpoint "Donetsk" in the Rostov Region have announced that last week, they for the first time registered firing in the direction of Ukraine from the Russian territory at different times of the day.

The registered firing in the direction of Ukraine from the territory of the Rostov Region was mentioned in the report of the OSCE observation mission prepared for the period of August 27-September 3.

"During the last week, the OSCE observation mission has for the first time registered firing in the direction of Ukraine from small- and large-calibre guns from the eastern and south-eastern territories bordering with Ukraine," states the report posted on the OSCE website on September 3.

Besides, the OSCE observers have noted particularly intense firing in the direction of Ukraine to the north from the town of Krasnodon of the Lugansk Region. "At night of August 31, dozens of very loud explosions were registered by the members of the OSCE observation mission in the western and north-western direction," the OSCE report notes.

According to the Ukrainian State Border Guard Service, the situation in the Rostov section of the Russian-Ukrainian border remains tense; however, since September 1, no information on firing from the territory of the Russian Federation is published on the website of the Ukrainian State Border Guard Service.
