In Dagestan, police hamper advocate to meet detainee Nurulaev, relatives assert

Djabrail Nurulaev was detained in Dagestan after a search in the village of Komsomolskoe, Kizilyurt District. According to his relatives, the advocate is not admitted to see him, said Aisha Selimkhanova, the spokeswoman of the Dagestani Regional Public Organization (DRPO) "Pravozaschita" (Advocacy).

The DRPO was approached by relatives of Djabrail Nurulaev, born in 1988, who complained during a search of their house on September 7 firearms were planted, Selimkhanova told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Policemen came to Nurulaev with a search warrant, which stated that a member of an illegal armed formation (IAF) could be hiding in his house. After the search, Nurulaev was taken to the Kizilyurt ROVD, said Selimkhanova. One of the relatives went there together with the advocate, but the latter was not allowed to see his client.

Nurulaev is not among the detainees, said the Kizilyurt ROVD.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in January 2012, two local residents – Djabrail Nurulaev and Ramazan Gadjiev disappeared in the village of Komsomolskoe. Later it became known that they were detained by the police.

Law enforcers explained that Gadjiev and Nurulaev exhibited disobedience to law enforcers in the performance of the latter's duties.
