In Makhachkala, law enforcers continue searching for militants; local residents do not complain about CTO regime

The counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime introduced in the Kirov District of Makhachkala has not been abolished yet. There, the search for suspected militants and their accomplices is underway, the Dagestani law enforcement bodies report. According to residents of the Kirov District, the CTO regime has been introduced on September 3 and it does not cause any discomfort.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the morning of September 3, the CTO regime was introduced in the Kirov District of Makhachkala after in the village of Shamkhal, law enforcers found a car with bodies of five murdered men inside it. According to preliminary investigation, all the deceased men were hunters. The law enforcers have claimed that during the CTO regime, they conducted searches for militants and their accomplices.

According to Zulfiya Magomedova, a resident of the village of Shamkhal, the policemen behave politely and correctly during the search.

The administration of the Kirov District of Makhachkala has reported receiving no complaints from the local residents in connection with the ongoing activities of the law enforcers.

It should be noted that on September 8, about one hundred residents of the village of Shamkhal held a picket in Makhachkala, demanding to conduct the transparent and thorough investigation into the murder of five local men. The law enforcers promised the protesters to come to the village and report on the progress of the investigation.
