ICRF suspects militants of killing five Shamkhal villagers in Makhachkala

Investigators believe that the murder of five persons in the village of Shamkhal of Makhachkala involves members of an illegal armed formation (IAF), stated Rasul Temirbekov, the Spokesman of the Investigating Department (ID) for Dagestan of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF). According to the source, out of the five deceased men, only one can be considered a hunter.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 3, a regime of counterterrorist operation (CTO) was introduced in the Kirov District of Makhachkala after in the village of Shamkhal, law enforcers found a car with bodies of five murdered men inside it. According to the Dagestani ID, all the deceased men were hunters.

According to Rasul Temirbekov, the investigators believe that "the men encountered a group of militants, and the members of the IAF decided to shoot them to prevent their going to the police."

Rasul Temirbekov has added that the Dagestani ID instituted on the fact of the murder a criminal case under two Articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation: Part 2 of Article 105 (murder of two or more persons) and Article 222 (illegal possession of weapon).

Besides, the Spokesman of the Dagestani ID has reported that almost all the bodies of the deceased men were given out to their relatives on the day when they were found.

Let us remind you that on September 8, about 100 residents of the village of Shamkhal held a picket in the capital of Dagestan and demanded to conduct thorough investigation into the murder of five villagers.
