Azerbaijani defence industry exhibition "ADEX-2014" has 200 participants from 34 countries

Baku opens the exhibition of the Azerbaijani International Defence Industry "ADEX-2014". The exhibition will show products of 200 companies from 34 countries of the world. This is the first event of this format, and neither Azerbaijan nor the South Caucasus as a whole ever hosted similar exhibitions. This was stated by Yakhya Musaev, the Deputy Minister of Defence Industry of Azerbaijan.

"The origin of the idea to organize an exhibition can be associated with the progress achieved by the defence industry in recent years. The Ministry of Defence Industry was established in 2005, and at present, Azerbaijan produces 900 items of different products, including all kinds of ammunition, military vehicles and weapons," Yakhya Musaev has stated.

According to the Deputy Minister, the aim of the exhibition is to expand Azerbaijan's military and technical cooperation and to create conditions for new contracts.

Yakhya Musaev believes that "the exhibition of defence products represents an indicator for growth of the Azerbaijan's prestige in the international arena, since similar exhibitions are held in the developed countries of the world."

Edward Strachan, Director of the company "Caspian Event Organisers" (CEO), has noted that the exhibition aroused great interest among the participants.

The exhibition is held under the initiative and support of the Azerbaijani Ministries of Defence Industry and of Defence in partnership with companies "Iteca Caspian" and "Caspian Event Organisers" (CEO).
