Said Amirov's defence reports on completion of investigative actions in case on murder of Dagestani investigator Arsen Gadjibekov
Investigators have completed the investigation into the case against Said Amirov, the dismissed Mayor of Makhachkala, and his nephew Yusup Djaparov, accused of organization of the murder of Dagestani investigator Arsen Gadjibekov and already sentenced on charges of plotting a terror act. At present, advocates examine the indictment. According to the advocates of Said Amirov, the process may take at least three months.
According to the investigators, Said Amirov was involved in the murder of investigator Arsen Gadjibekov, who headed one of the investigating departments of Makhachkala. The murder was committed in Kaspiysk on December 14, 2011. Said Amirov and Yusup Djaparov, the former Deputy Mayor of the city of Kaspiysk, are charged under Article 295 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempt on life of a person carrying out preliminary investigation).
The investigators believe that Said Amirov ordered and his relative organized the murder of investigator Arsen Gadjibekov, the "Kommersant" reports.
At present, the advocates examine the materials of the case, which consists of 70 volumes in total. According to Vladimir Postanyuk, an advocate of Yusup Djaparov, at the moment, the defence is focused on the consideration of the appeal filed to the Russian Supreme Court against the first case against Said Amirov, and the court hearing for it is scheduled for September 18.
The defence of the dismissed Mayor believes that the new criminal case against Said Amirov can also be sent to the North-Caucasian Military District Court in Rostov-on-Don.
