KBR: forensic examination fails to reveal causes of Timur Kuashev's death

The forensic medical examination to reveal the causes of the death of Timur Kuashev, a journalist and civil society activist, conducted by forensic experts in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR), has failed to answer the question about the causes of the journalist's death. According to Khamby Kuashev, the father of the deceased journalist, the new forensic medical examination is to be held in Moscow.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 1, Timur Kuashev's body was found in a suburb of Nalchik. The initial forensic medical examination showed no signs of a violent death. Forensic specialists did not give an opinion on the causes of the journalist's death; however, according to the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), the journalist's body bore a sign of injection.

It should be noted that the journalist's death got a great public resonance. The OSCE, the UNESCO, the Russian Union of Journalists, and well-known public and political figures demanded to conduct an objective and impartial investigation into the death of Timur Kuashev.

The Investigating Department (ID) for the KBR of the ICRF instituted a criminal case under Article 105 (murder).

Earlier, Valery Ustov, the head of the ID, has confirmed that the investigators found a sign of injection in an armpit of the Timur Kuashev's body.
