Fizuli Mirzakhanov killed in Tabasaran District of Dagestan was wanted for involvement in terror act in Khuchni village

Fizuli Mirzakhanov killed in the Tabasaran District of Dagestan was wanted for involvement in an illegal armed formation (IAF) and in the terror act committed in the village of Khuchni one year ago. According to the investigating authorities of Dagestan, Fizuli Mirzakhanov and Djafar Khanmagomedov, who was killed together with him, declined the offer to surrender.

According to the investigators, law enforcers clashed with Fizuli Mirzakhanov and Djafar (Djafar) Khanmagomedov, members of the terrorist grouping "South" in the course of operational and search activities conducted in the wooded area near the village of Uluz of the Tabasaran District. When offered to surrender, Fizuli Mirzakhanov and Djafar Khanmagomedov refused and fired in the direction of the policemen. After that, they themselves were killed by return fire.

The investigators instituted a criminal case on the fact of the shootout under Article 317 (attempt on life of a law enforcer and military men) and Part 2 of Article 222 (trafficking of arms) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the website of the Investigating Department (ID) for the Republic of Dagestan of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) reports.

The Dagestani ID's website also confirms that Fizuli Mirzakhanov was wanted for involvement in an IAF and in the terror act committed by a suicide bomber near the ROVD (District Interior Division) in the village of Khuchni of the Tabasaran District of Dagestan on September 23, 2013, which killed three persons.
