Initiative group to support Shant Arutyunyan's minor son appears in Armenia
Classmates and friends of 15-year-old Shagen Arutyunyan, who is involved in the case against activists of the "Million Mask March," have created an initiative group to support him. The protest action in support of Shagen Arutyunyan is scheduled for September 14, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
It should be noted that Shagen Arutyunyan is a son of Shant Arutyunyan, the leader of the "Tsegakron" Party, who organized the protest action of November 5, 2013, which ended in clashes with the police and arrests of participants of the March. The prisoners' dock in the case contains 14 activists, including 15-year-old Shagen.
At the trial, Shagen himself stated that he was defending his father from the policemen who were beating him.
The friends of Shagen Arutyunyan became indignant about the prosecutor's request. In the social network Facebook, the group "In defence of 15-year-old Shagen Arutyunyan" published a call to join the action in his support on September 14. As of present, more than 650 people have joined the group.
