In Volgograd, TEC rejects demand of "Rodina" candidate to recount votes
In Volgograd, the Territorial Election Commission (TEC) rejected the demand of Natalia Latyshevskaya, a candidate from the "Rodina" (Motherland) Party, to recount votes after the elections to the Regional Duma.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that, according to preliminary data of the Regional Election Commission (REC), Natalia Latyshevskaya was the winner in the Tsentralny District of Volgograd, ahead of Gennady Murylyov, the nominee of the "Edinaya Rossiya" (United Russia) Party by six votes. On September 16, a vote recount at two polling stations (Precinct Election Commissions – PECs) Nos. 312 and 315 conducted at the TEC of the Voroshilov District of Volgograd changed the outcome of the vote in favour of Gennady Murylyov. His opponent from the "Rodina" Party demanded a recount of votes at other precincts.
As stated by the TEC's resolution, available at disposal of the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, the absence of complaints about documented violations and the lack of doubts as to correctness of the protocols were the reasons that caused the refusal to recount votes.
Dmitry Kuts, the deputy chairman of the REC, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that Gennady Murylyov was recognized the winner in the constituency.
Today, Roman Poglazov, the advocate of Natalia Latyshevskaya, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that her client had lodged applications about the election falsification in the 16th single-mandate constituency to the Regional Prosecutor's Office and to the REC.
