In Dagestan, PEC member demands to punish policemen who detained him
Gayirbi Gayirbiev, a member of a precinct election commission (PEC) has addressed the bosses of law enforcement bodies of Dagestan and Russia with a demand to prosecute the policemen of the Levashin District of Dagestan, who detained him when he tried to prevent a voting fraud at the polling station.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on a single day of voting of September 14, Russia held a number of elections to regional and local authorities.
According to Gayirbiev, on September 14 he exercised his powers of an advisory member of PEC No. 0928, when a man named Isaev, who introduced himself as the chairman of the above PEC, made a vote falsification at the polling station.
"In answer to my demand to follow the law, Isaev invited by phone to PEC No. 0928 a representative of the candidate Magomedgadji Magomedov, who rushed, without any lawful right, into the premises of the TEC and began obstructing the lawful activities of the PEC staff," said Gayirbi Gayirbiev.
Thereafter, Gayirbiev tried to call the on duty prosecutor, but the above Magomedov's representative snatched the phone out of his hands and ordered the police captain who was in the PEC to invite a police squad.
"The squad appeared, and by using physical force against me, without any lawful grounds, took me to the Levashin ROVD (District Interior Division)," writes Gayirbi Gayirbiev.
Gayirbi Gayirbiev has sent his complaint to Eduard Kaburneev, the head of the Investigating Department for Dagestan of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), Ramazan Shakhnavazov, the Public Prosecutor of Dagestan, and Yuri Chaika, the General Public Prosecutor of the Russian Federation.
