Chechnya: Prosecutor's Office and CEC fixed no removals of "Golos" observers from polling stations (+video)

On September 14, in Chechnya, observers from the Association "Golos" (Vote) were not removed from polling stations, as it was allegedly prescribed by the Russian Central Election Commission (CEC) in the document, a photocopy of which was posted in the Internet, the Republic's Prosecutor's Office said today.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on a single day of voting of September 14, Russia held a number of elections to regional and local authorities.

Let us remind you that on September 14 an anonymous source from the Chechen Republic posted on the "Map of Election Violation" run by the Association in Defence of Voters' Rights "Golos" a photocopy of the decision of the CEC prescribing to remove "Golos" observers away from polling stations, noting that the decision was made "because the Association of NGOs 'In Defence of Voters' Rights' functions as a foreign agent, and, pursuant to Point 6, Article 2, of the Federal Law 'On Non-Profit Organizations", is exercising political activities in the territory of the Russian Federation in the interests of foreign states, which is contrary to the letter and spirit of the federal election law." The photocopy of the document has no date, decision number, name of the "Golos" observer and details of the polling station – the respective blocks of the document were left blank.

According to the Prosecutor's Office of Chechnya, the Republic's CEC has no facts of removal of "Golos" observers from polling stations. The statement posted on the website of the Office on September 18 says that the CEC received no voters' complaints on this matter.

Meanwhile, the "Golos" claims that the above prescription was issued, but most election commissions ignored it.
