Hundred women attend First Congress of Muslim Women of North Ossetia
Today, Vladikavkaz has held the First Congress of Muslim Women of North Ossetia, which was attended by about 100 women. The Congress discussed the women's role in the society, problems of creating a family, fundamentals of marriage and the importance of wearing a headscarf.
The event was held in the Central Scientific Library in Vladikavkaz and attracted Muslim women from all regions of the republic and Vladikavkaz; most of them were middle-aged and older, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
"We want here to raise the role of the woman, the role of the mother in the society, since the younger generation is now disoriented; and the foundations of the family are not at the level they should be," Aida Tsogoeva, the chair of the charity organization "Jasmine" and one of the organizers of the Congress, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
According to Khadjimurat Gatsalov, the Mufti of North Ossetia, the Congress of Muslim Women will become a traditional event.
