Krasnodar: "EcoWatch" activist holds picket in support of Evgeny Vitishko
Tatiana Borisova, an activist of the "Ecological Watch for Northern Caucasus" (EcoWatch) has held a solo picket in Krasnodar in support of the ecologist Evgeny Vitishko, convicted for damaging the fence around the premise, known as "summer cottage" of Alexander Tkachov, the Governor of the Krasnodar Territory.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Evgeny Vitishko is serving his term in a colony-settlement in the Tambov Region. He refused to plead guilty; and his colleagues believe that his prosecution was politically motivated. The "Yabloko" Party has launched the campaign "Week of Action" to hold actions in support of Vitishko in different cities of the Russian Federation.
Tatiana Borisova has held her solo picket in Krasnodar on September 18 within the above "Week of Action". She stood with a poster "Freedom to Vitishko – End to Tkachov!" opposite the administration of the Krasnodar Territory, says the website of the "EcoWatch".
During her picket, an administration official approached Borisova and suggested not to picket but get appointment with the Governor, the website "BlogSochi" reports.
