Residents of Gimry and Vremenny report inspections and searches

Residents of the villages of Vremenny and Gimry of the Untsukul District of Dagestan report on law enforcers going around households and searching houses.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 18, a resident of the village of Vremenny located close to the village of Gimry reported that his village was cordoned off by law enforcers and soldiers, whose number exceeded 1000 people.

According to one of the local residents, on September 21, several houses in the village of Gimry were searched. According to the local resident, in general, the current situation in the village is calm.

Local residents also report that starting from September 19, in the village of Vremenny, law enforcers also go around households and check IDs of all the people, who live in each house.

"They register all the residents of the village, and everyone who passes the check is given a number required for presentation at the checkpoint to leave and then to enter the village of Vremenny. This is the same practice like in the village of Gimry," said Aminat M., a local resident.

According to the woman, almost all the residents of the village, whose number does not exceed 1000 people, passed the procedure.

Another local woman told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that she had to take a DNA test twice during the procedure of registration.

Officials from the Untsukul ROVD (District Interior Division) have reported that the activities are being carried out in the framework of the regime of counterterrorist operation (CTO) introduced earlier in spring.
