Markelov's killer refuses from his last plea at trial on creating extremist community
On Monday, at the Moscow City Court, Nikita Tikhonov, a murderer of advocate Stanislav Markelov, charged with the creation of the extremist community "Combat Organization of Russian Nationalists" (CORN), has given up his final speech.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that investigators instituted a new case against Nikita Tikhonov together with Ilya Goryachev, a witness in the case of the Stanislav Markelov's murder, on charges of creating the CORN. The Court considers the criminal case in accordance with the specific order, that is, without examining the evidence, since the defendant had pleaded completely guilty and had earlier concluded the pre-trial agreement with the investigators.
At the court hearing, Nikita Tikhonov has explained his decision to give up his last plea by the fact that "everything is written in the testimony given to investigators."
Judge Andrei Korotkov has scheduled the pronouncement of the verdict against Nikita Tikhonov for September 24.
