Georgia: Movement "Free Generation" demands self-liquidation of NGO "Free Zone"
An action demanding self-liquidation of the NGO "Free Zone", which is associated with the "United National Movement" Party of ex-President Mikhail Saakashvili, was held in Tbilisi on Tuesday, September 23, by activists of the Youth Movement "Free Generation".
The "Free Zone" should cease to exist, because "it is the conductor of the ideas of Mikhail Saakashvili, Gigi Ugulava, and the 'United National Movement' Party," said the protesters.
The "Georgia-Online" reports that activists of the "Free Generation" gave the "Free Zone" 10 days for self-liquidation.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Georgia, after the action, eight activists of the "Free Generation" were brought to responsibility.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 28, five activists of the NGO "Free Zone" were detained by law enforcers at an attempt to paint a bridge in central Tbilisi. The message posted on August 28 on the NGO's website said that it was "a solidarity action with the people of Ukraine."
