"Pravozaschita" states detention in Makhachkala of a friend of the woman who complained about policeman's violence
In the morning on Wednesday, September 24, power agents detained Asiyat Patakhova, a resident of Makhachkala, and took her to some unknown place, said Aisha Selimkhanova, an activist of the Dagestani Regional Public Organization (DRPO) "Pravozaschita" (Advocacy). Earlier, Asiyat told about shadowing and an attempt to abduct her.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night on August 24, in Makhachkala, a policeman detained a local woman; and the incident was reported by the detainee's friend Asiyat Patakhova. Once the detainees were released, the DRPO "Pravozaschita" stated that the young woman, who was brought to the Centre for Combating Extremism (CCE) was sexually assaulted.
Asiyat Patakhova was detained in Kaspiysk in her sister's house, said Aisha Selimkhanova; and it was confirmed by Aisha Abakarova, a Patakhova's friend.
Officials from the GOVD (City Interior Division) of Kaspiysk and GOVD of Makhachkala said that Asiyat Patakhova was not brought to them.
