Fate of detained Vremenny residents still unknown, locals report

Nothing is still known about the fate of four residents of the settlement of Vremenny, Untsukul District of Dagestan, detained on September 18. A local said on September 24 that at the moment the situation in the settlement is calm.

Let us remind you that on September 18, a resident of the settlement of Vremenny, adjacent to the village of Gimry, told that the settlement was blocked by power agents and militaries – over 1000 persons in total. According to local residents, since September 19, household-by-household inspections are conducted.

"According to eyewitnesses, two men – Sultanbeg Khapizov, born in 1984, and Magomedzagid Kamilov, born in 1979, were put into an Ural truck and taken to some unknown place. Murtazali Shamilov was accused of having a bunker, although, according to his story, it is an ordinary house basement. Shamilov was detained and also taken somewhere. Magomedgazhi Baisultanov's whereabouts is also unknown after his detention on September 18," said Aisha Selimkhanova, an employee of the DRPO "Pravozaschita" (Advocacy).

According to her story, after deployment of additional forces on September 18 in Vremenny, "all residents were ordered to sit at home and not go out."

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the Untsukul ROVD (District Interior Division) that nobody was brought there from the settlement.
