Dagestani Gimry Tunnel may be opened later this week

The Gimry Tunnel will be opened to motor traffic after the end of the special operation conducted in the settlement of Vremenny, Untsukul District of Dagestan, said a source from power agencies. According to his version, the situation may settle by the end of this week.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the Gimry Tunnel, which was closed because of the blocking by power agencies of the settlement of Vremenny in the Untsukul District, was scheduled to open on September 23. However, on that day, the opening failed because of the worsening of the situation in the settlement.

"The 'Dagestanavtodor' Company, which is servicing the Gimry Tunnel, as well as the press service of the Dagestani MIA have reported that they have no information about the opening day for vehicles," said the press service of the Dagestani Ministry for Press and Information.

The tunnel will be opened only after full normalization of the situation in Vremenny, said a law enforcement source.

At the moment, the situation in the settlement is calm, a local said on September 24.
