KTC upholds verdict to Sochi resident Oksana Toropova

The Krasnodar Territorial Court (KTC) has dismissed the complaint lodged by Oksana Toropova, a resident of Sochi, against her sentence on charges of beating up a court marshal. The woman herself told about it to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, adding that she would appeal against the KTC's decision by means of cassation.

Let us remind you that on February 4, the Khosta District Court of Sochi sentenced, in the case of assaulting a court marshal, Oksana Toropova and her mother Olga Martyniuk to one year in a colony settlement each. The women appealed against the verdict; and the appeal instance of the KTC returned the case for retrial.

According to Oksana Toropova, Judge Yuri Onokhov considered the appeal alone, dismissed it and upheld the verdict of the Khosta District Court. According to her story, the judge disregarded the arguments of her complaint and violations of the law by subordinate judges.

The incident, which resulted in Martyniuk's and Toropova's appearance in the prisoner's dock, took place in the building of the Khosta District Court on August 22, 2013. The mother and daughter argue that the judge without reason pressed the alert button and called the court marshal Mikhail Muradin, who applied force to them. According to investigators and the public prosecution, the women themselves beat up Muradin.
