Militants confirmed involvement of Mustafaev, killed in Semender, in underground

Rajab Mustafaev, who was killed on September 2 in the Makhachkala settlement of Semender, was a militant, says a statement posted on one of the websites that support the armed underground of Northern Caucasus.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 2 in Semender, located in the outskirts of Makhachkala, policemen shot dead a man, who, according to their version, while they tried to check his car, opened fire on them. The man was identified as Rajab Mustafaev, born in 1978, who, according to the Russia's National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC), was an accomplice of the "Kadar" and "Makhachkala" militant groupings and was involved in shelling MIA employees in July 2009 in Semender.

Patimat Mustafaeva, Rajab's mother, said that her son was not involved in any illegal armed formation (IAF). 17 days after his death, power agents refused to give out his body for burial, the woman wrote in her application to the Dagestani Regional Public Organization (DRPO) "Pravozaschita" (Advocacy).

According to the resources that support the armed underground of Northern Caucasus, as of today, the body was given out to relatives for burial.
