The mourning event was organized by the regional office of the All-Russia People's Front, and it was attended by about 250 people, including students of the Polytechnic University, veterans and members of the Union "Chernobyl" and "Combat Brotherhood".
The action started at 7:00 p.m. Yuri Starovatykh, the co-Chair of the regional office of the All-Russia People's Front, a honorary citizen of Volgograd, has reported on the simultaneous similar action that takes place on Poklonnaya Gora in Moscow.
"We have come to demand from the OSCE, the UN, the Council of Europe and the European Court to conduct an accurate, impartial and thorough international investigation into the crimes committed in Donbas," Yuri Starovatykh has stated. And he has continued: "For the past several months, the situation in Ukraine remains critical, and innocent children and the elderly people are being killed there. Mass graves of innocent victims are being hidden, and no one is brought to responsibility. Our action is to attract the attention of not only the international community, but also of the international judicial system."
