Sochi residents claim violation of their rights builders of high-rise structure

On September 27, about 50 residents of buildings located in Park and Constitution Streets in Sochi held one more gathering with the demand to stop the construction of high-rise buildings in their residential area.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 28, in Sochi, residents of the buildings in Park and Constitution Streets already held a spontaneous gathering in connection with the construction of a nearby 16-storey building. The local residents claimed the illegality of the construction works and called the police, who ordered the developer to temporarily stop the construction works. On September 2, despite the ban issued by the police, the workers resumed the construction of the high-rise building.

The permission for the construction of the building in Park Street was granted by the court. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Oleg Vronsky, who in 2012 held the post of the Vice-Mayor of Sochi.

"I just refused to grant the permission, since no building can be constructed there. However, the developers went to court, and the court decided to grant them the permission for construction. I believe that on this occasion, the local residents should go to court and appealed against the court's decision, which violated their rights," Oleg Vronsky has concluded.
