In Tbilisi, unidentified attackers beat up "Asaval-Dasavali" journalist
Late in the evening of September 30, Zaza Davitaya, a journalist of the Georgian newspaper "Asaval-Dasavali", was beaten in the capital of Georgia. The journalist was taken to hospital with serious injuries. According to colleagues of the victim, Zaza Davitaya was attacked by a group of young people of about 10 persons.
The incident occurred in Shartava Street when Zaza Davitaya was going to the newspaper office. According to his colleagues, the journalist was beaten by a group of young people who were intentionally waiting for him.
When the unidentified attackers were beating Zaza Davitaya, the journalist got several ribs broken. At present, he remains at the Gudushauri hospital. The victim feels very bad, and he is still not able to describe the details of the incident, the "Georgia-online" reports with reference to the journalist's colleagues.
The staff members of the newspaper "Asaval-Dasavali" note that the incident was a sort of a pre-planned "punishment" of the journalist. They emphasize that earlier, Zaza Davitaya had received threats, the "Rossiyskaya Gazeta" reports.
