Russia's MoD refutes information about involvement of Russian soldiers in hostilities in Ukraine

The organization "Soldiers' Mothers of Saint Petersburg" has received a response from the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) to its request. According to the Russian MoD, the information on the involvement of Russian troops in the hostilities in Ukraine is not true.

Let us remind you that the "Soldiers' Mothers of Saint Petersburg" has sent to the Russian MoD a letter asking whether it was true that the Russian troops were involved in warfare in the territory of Ukraine. The request mentioned the names of 11 Russian soldiers, who, according to human rights defenders, were killed in the warfare in Eastern Ukraine.

In response to their request, the human rights defenders received a reply signed by Colonel Kupchishin, the Deputy Commander of Airborne Troops for work with staff, who called the information of human rights defenders wild guesses.

"The information mentioned in your letter is untrue. Your wild guesses are based on the information disseminated by the media channels, which are controlled by the West and which show hostile attitude with respect to the Russian Federation," stated the letter, which the "Soldiers' Mothers of Saint Petersburg" posted on their website on October 2.

The human rights defenders are not satisfied with the MoD's answer, since they found in it the elements of moral teaching and no specific information, the human rights defenders report in their message. Alexander Peredruk, the Press Secretary of the organization, does not rule out that the human rights defenders may file a claim to the court to ensure that the further requests will be on behalf of the court.
