Experts doubt about involvement of "Imarat Kavkaz" in suicide bombing in Grozny
Orhan Cemal, a "Forbes" magazine correspondent, and Akhmet Yarlykapov, the Senior Researcher of the Centre for Ethnopolitical Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), express their doubts that the "Imarat Kavkaz", an organization recognized in the Russian Federation as terrorist one, might be involved in the suicide bombing in Grozny. According to Alexei Malashenko, a member of the Scientific Council of the Moscow Carnegie Centre, the terrorist, who committed suicide bombing in Grozny, was not a member of the "Imarat Kavkaz", but referred to "the third generation of militants."
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 5, on the eve of the concert on the Day of Grozny, a suicide bombing was committed at the entrance to the concert hall. Five dead policemen and other 13 injured persons were reported.
According to Orhan Cemal, the suicide bombing in Grozny violates the order of Ali Abu-Mukhammad Kebekov, the leader of the "Imarat Kavkaz", not to commit suicide bombings. However, the journalist believes that the order of the leader of the "Imarat Kavkaz" sounded "like a recommendation" and "is not an operational resolution."
Akhmet Yarlykapov also doubts the fact that the suspected suicide bomber was a member of the "Imarat Kavkaz". According to the expert, the terror act committed by the suicide bomber was aimed against law enforcers.
Akhmet Yarlykapov has suggested that at present, the "Imarat Kavkaz" consists of a network of groupings that may not execute the orders issued by Ali Abu-Mukhammad Kebekov. According to the expert, at present, the armed underground is disorganized as a result of successful operations of law enforcers.
