Bidzina Ivanishvili allocates two million laris for two projects of his NGO

In Georgia, the NGO "Citizen", founded by former Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili, has launched two projects. The minimum budget for each of them has reached one million laris, Bidzina Ivanishvili announces.

The presentation of the NGO founded and headed by Bidzina Ivanishvili was held on February 4, 2014. At the presentation, the former Prime Minister said that the NGO "Citizen" would help the society to control the activities of the authorities.

On October 6, the National Library in Tbilisi hosted the presentation of two new projects of the NGO "Citizen". The first project is titled "Students for Self-Administration", and the second one is titled "The Olympics of Civic Education". The projects are aimed to stimulate the most active part of the Georgian society, Bidzina Ivanishvili stated as quoted by the "Georgia Online".

According to the former Prime Minister, each of the projects will require at least one million laris, i.e., about 22.7 million roubles as converted at the current rate of exchange.

After the presidential election held in October 2013, Bidzina Ivanishvili resigned from his post of the head of the government. Then, he declared that after the end of his political career, he was going to get engaged in public projects.
