"Don Women" needs 6000 roubles to pay fine for refusal to get registered as "foreign agent"

The regional public organization "The Union of 'Don Women'" is to collect an additional amount of about 6000 roubles to pay the fine imposed by the decision of the Novocherkassk City Court for operation of the public association without being registered as a "foreign agent". This was reported by Valentina Cherevatenko, the head of the "Don Women".

Let us remind you that on July 8, the magistrate in the Rostov Region fined the public organization of the "Don Women" by 300,000 roubles for the charge of political activities without entering the register of "foreign agents". Defenders of the public organizations announced their intention to appeal against the decision. However, on August 15, the Novocherkassk City Court dismissed their appeal denied and obliged the Union to pay the fine till October 15, 2014.

Valentina Cherevatenko has emphasized that the Union received anonymous and open donations. According to her, the Union "Don Women" will be able to pay the fine up to October 15.

Meanwhile, it became known that the commission of the government on legislative activities has approved a bill introduced by the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) to reduce the minimum amount of the administrative penalty for the activities of a non-commercial organization acting as a foreign agent and not included in the register of foreign agents.

"The bill suggests reducing the minimum amount of the administrative fine down to 50,000 roubles for officials and down to 100,000 roubles for legal entities," the official website of the Russian government reports.
