Number of victims of shootout at Kizlyar marketplace reaches eight persons

In the Dagestani city of Kizlyar, a mass fight was followed by a shootout at the central marketplace. As a result, one person was killed and seven others were injured.

The shootout at the market occurred on Thursday morning. Unidentified gunmen shot and killed the director of the market and his bodyguards to "divide" the commercial facility, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by an official of the Investigating Department for Dagestan of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).

The armed conflict has followed the mass fight, and unidentified persons opened indiscriminate fire from semi-automatic weapons on the administration building of the city market, the RIA "Dagestan" reports with reference to a source in the law enforcement bodies.

The killed man was identified as 34-year-old Eldar Salikhov, the "LifeNews" reports without specifying any sources. "According to the preliminary information, the victim turned out to be the director of the market," an official of the Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has stated as quoted by the RIA "Novosti".

According to the MIA's official, all the participants of the shootout, including the main suspect, have been detained.

To prevent mass riots, the city police work in enhanced mode, the "Yuga.ru" reports with reference to the Dagestani MIA.
