In Novorossiysk, local authorities ban ecological rally

In Novorossiysk, the local authorities have refused to sanction the ecological rally in the Vostochny District of the city, which was initially scheduled for today. This has been reported by the "Ecological Watch for Northern Caucasus" (EcoWatch).

"The people were going to discuss the problem of illegal placement of parking lots next to residential buildings, failure to relocate people out of dilapidated houses, construction of highway junction in close proximity to residential buildings, non-observance of sizes of sanitary protection zones of industrial enterprises, and their other problems. Mayor Vladimir Sinyagovsky was invited to attend the rally," states the press release of the EcoWatch received by the "Caucasian Knot".

Activists of the "EcoWatch" treat the local authorities' refusal to sanction the rally as unlawful. The Novorossiysk City Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) intends to appeal against the ban of the rally.
