Officials fail to react to demands of Zverevo hunger-strikers, protesters assert

In the city of Zverevo, Rostov Region, local and regional officials pay no attention to the hunger strike and complaints of local protesters, said Valery Dyakonov, a City Duma Deputy.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 1, ten residents of the city of Zverevo, Rostov Region, went on an endless hunger strike demanding to resume the suspended payments on benefits for housing and communal services.

On October 15, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Valery Dyakonov that the protest action was underway in the form of an endless hunger strike.

According to Valery Dyakonov, the hunger-strikers told him that starting from October 14, they were visited in their apartments by policemen, who demanded from them to write explanations about why they were on hunger strike. According to the protesters, the law enforcement bodies put pressure on the hunger-strikers.
