Salikhov killed in Dagestan had been detained before special operation, relative asserts

In Dagestan, family members of Elshan Salikhov, one of the men killed on October 16 during a special operation in Derbent, report that he was detained by the law enforcers prior to the special operation.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the special operation in Derbent was held in the morning of October 16. As a result, three persons were killed. According to the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC), they planned to commit a terror act and then to leave to fight in Syria. According to NAC, the killed persons have been pre-identified as Nariman Askerov, Kurbanmagomed Kurbanov and Elshan Salikhov.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by a family member of Elshan Salikhov, one of the men killed during the special operation, that Elshan Salikhov was detained in the morning of October 16 and until the evening of the same day, his whereabouts was unknown.

"Law enforcers took him away with them after morning namaz (prayer) right from his house," told a relative of Elshan Salikhov, who preferred to remain anonymous. And the source has continued: "We've just got a photo from the place of the special operation. On the photo, we can see that bodies of two other killed men lie covered by pieces of crumbling plaster. However, the Elshan's body looks neat, and the floor around the body is clean. And Elshan's hands are behind his back."

According to the source, it is still not clear whether the wife of the killed man intends to file a complaint to the police about the incident.
