SBS of Ukraine announces attempt of saboteurs' penetration from Rostov Region
As stated by the State Border Service (SBS) of Ukraine, a penetration of a sabotage and intelligence group from the Rostov Region of Russia was prevented in the Lugansk Region.
According to the SBS, on October 19 border guards opened fire on the above sabotage and intelligence group; however, the group "avoided an armed clash and returned to Russia."
"In the SBS section named Krasnaya Talovka, a Russian armed group was not allowed to enter the territory of Ukraine. Yesterday morning, a border-guard unit noticed a group of 14 armed men, who had violated the state border of Ukraine and continued penetrating into the territory of the country," the SBS of Ukraine has reported.
The penetration attempt of the above group was also confirmed by Andrei Lysenko, the head of the Information Centre of the Council for National Security and Defence (CNSD). In case of success, he said, "the saboteurs would have got into the area of the city of Schastie from the northeast."
