Stavropol authorities: entertainment facilities in Minvody are to operate until 10:00 p.m.
In the city of Mineralnye Vody (Minvody), catering facilities, which sell alcoholic beverages, are to be closed at 10:00 p.m. This was announced by Vladimir Vladimirov, the Governor of the Stavropol Territory. This decision followed the consequences of the mass fight in the city hospital, which resulted from a conflict in one of the cafes of Minvody.
Vladimir Vladimirov has referred to the statistics of the regional Department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA). According to the statistics, in the recent week, in the Stavropol Territory, law enforcers recorded more than 500 different offences, mostly committed by local residents in a state of alcoholic intoxication.
Besides, the Governor has also instructed the heads of the other districts of the region to limit the opening hours of the entertainment facilities to 11:00 p.m. In the near future, the above measure is to be introduced in Stavropol, Budyonnovsk, Georgievsk, Zelenokumsk, Nevinnomyssk, and in the Levokumskoe and Arzgir Districts.
Dmitry Bushman, a bar owner, has said that the authorities' decision will be a serious blow to the business. According to the bar owner, his bar gets the main revenue on weekends, when a lot of visitors come after 11:00 p.m.
