Ramis Mirzakhanov, killed in Dagestan, had nothing to do with militants, his relatives assert

Relatives of Ramis Mirzakhanov, a deputy of the Tabasaran District Assembly, who was shot dead in the village of Akka, assert that he had nothing to do with militants; he never supported the ideas of Wahhabism and refused to contact the relatives who had gone underground. Relatives demand from power agents to recognize their mistake, said Ruslan Mirzakhanov, a Ramis’ brother.

Ramis Mirzakhanov was killed on October 15 in a special operation, said the author of the message that arrived to the SMS-service of the "Caucasian Knot".

In the opinion of Ruslan Mirzakhanov, law enforcers had shot his brother dead by mistake, but would not admit it; he states that at the time of the incident he heard people in uniform saying that that had killed a wrong person.

According to his story, on October 15 law enforcers conducted their special activities aimed to search Abduselim Mirzakhanov, an alleged member of an illegal armed formation (IAF), whose family lives near the houses of Ruslan and Ramis Mirzakhanov.

Ramis had no contacts with Fizuli and Magomed Mirzakhanov, who were killed in a special operation on September 11, said Ruslan. According to his version, they are his and his brother's relatives, but because their family had taken the path of Wahhabism, they had no contacts for about 20 years.

Ruslan Mirzakhanov also asserts that Ramis had repeatedly received threats from militants for his position.
