Committee of Soldiers' Mothers demands from SMD Prosecutors to investigate death of Astrakhan soldier in Dagestan

The Astrakhan Committee of Soldiers' Mothers has appealed to the Prosecutor's Office for the Southern Military District (SMD) with a request to identify and punish the persons responsible for the death of a regular soldier killed in a road traffic accident in Dagestan. According to Anatoly Salin, the head of the Astrakhan Committee of Soldiers' Mothers, the soldier regular burned in an overturned car, and one more soldier from the Astrakhan Region became disabled.

The road traffic accident involving four soldiers of the Buynaksk military unit No. 63354 occurred at one of the mountain roads on September 20. However, it was reported only on October 25 through the Astrakhan regional branch of the Committee of Soldiers' Mothers.

According to Anatoly Salin, the forensic expert's reports states "the cause of the death of A. A. Ivanov is not detected, since the body was destroyed by flame."

"His parents have lost their son, and the commanders, who came to the funeral, said nothing during the burial ceremony. No money from colleagues and no certificates for insurance purposes have been submitted to the deceased soldier's relatives," states the official appeal sent by Anatoly Salin to the Military Prosecutor for the Southern Military District.

The head of the Astrakhan Committee of Soldiers' Mothers has expressed the hope that the Prosecutor's Office for the Southern Military District will check the facts he describes in his appeal and make a decision to institute a criminal case on the fact of the deaths of soldiers.
