US State Department urges Americans to refrain from visiting Krasnodar Territory and Rostov Region
The US State Department has stated that the Russia's Krasnodar Territory and Rostov Region pose a potential security threat to American travellers and tourists.
"All citizens of the United States who are already staying in or planning to go to the Russian regions bordering on Ukraine, in particular, the Rostov Region and Krasnodar Territory, should be aware of the potential threat to their safety," the State Department has noted, stressing that the Rostov Region is still under the state of emergency introduced by the Russian Govt, the RBC reports.
According to the State Department, the situation on the border "is unpredictable and can change rapidly." US experts believe that this situation will persist at least until the end of the year.
Also, according to the State Department, staying in the Rostov Region is dangerous because of the high risk of being kidnapped or taken as hostage. Americans are strongly advised to refrain from travelling from Russia to Ukraine by land across the region, the "Donnews.ru" reports.
The Bryansk, Kursk, Belgorod and Voronezh Regions are also treated unsafe in terms of security.
