Volgograd: at trial on terror acts Dadaev again refuses to plead guilty

The defendant Alautdin Dadaev was questioned today at the trial on terror acts in Volgograd, said his advocate Selim Magomedov. The defendant confirmed his earlier evidence about his innocence.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that trial on last year's terror acts began at the Dzerzhinsk District Court of Volgograd on August 11 behind closed doors.

"Today, I am satisfied with the progress of the trial," said Selim Magomedov after the court session. "My client has confirmed his earlier evidence that he had no attitude to the terror acts; and he did not know that they were prepared. He said that he had no weapons, and, maybe, they were planted into his house. My client has also stated that he did not know the perpetrators; they never spent a night in his house; and he never transported or helped them."

On December 29 and 30, 2013, Volgograd was struck by two terror acts, which killed 34 people (apart from two suicide bombers) and injured over 70 other people. The prisoner's dock contains four natives of Dagestan: brothers Magomednabi and Tagir Batirov are charged under Article 208 (participation in an illegal armed formation), Alautdin Dadaev and Ibragim Magomedov – under Articles 33-205 (complicity in a terror act) and 208 of the Russian Criminal Code. They deny any involvement in the acts.
