Mother of one of detainees at Makhachkala mosque denies his involvement in disorders

Murad Gazimagomedov, who was detained by policemen along with other parishioners of the mosque in Makhachkala, was transferred to the temporary detention facility (known as IVS) and is suspected of resisting the police during the riots. His mother asserts that Murad had been detained before the conflict of policemen with mosque-goers burst out.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 31 at the mosque located in Hungarian Fighters Street in Makhachkala, a conflict broke out of policemen with parishioners.

On November 1, one of the detainees, Murad Gazimagomedov, 23, was transferred to IVS No. 1 of Makhachkala "for resisting the police and for smashing police car glasses," said his mother Kumsiyat Gazimagomedova.

Policemen drove up to the mosque and began detaining people without explanations; and it provoked parishioners' outrage, said an eyewitness of the incident.

Earlier, another eyewitness said that during the conflict believers turned police cars over, but the source has refuted this information.

The source said that there were minors among mosque-goers. According to his version, on November 1, five parishioners were still kept at the Sovietskiy ROVD (District Interior Division); however, the ROVD has stated that only one detainee was still kept there.
