Four policemen suffered at explosion in KBR

In the course of the counterterrorist operation (CTO) in the Chegem District of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR), a blast of an improvised explosive device (IED) wounded four law enforcers.

In the morning on Wednesday, November 5, while inspecting the house in the village of Chegem Vtoroi of the Chegem District, where on November 4 a suspected militant was killed, the policemen stepped on the IED and received wounds. Let us remind you that the CTO regime was in force in the village on November 4 and was cancelled in the afternoon on Wednesday. During the CTO, power agents blocked a private house; and people who were inside opened fire in response to the offer to surrender. The casualty was an expert in making IEDs of a unit of the banned international terrorist organization "Imarat Kavkaz", the Russian National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC) has reported.

The name of the casualty was not disclosed; however, the NAC states that he was a 25-year-old active militant.

"According to available information, the bandits were preparing subversive and terrorist acts and a series of attacks on governmental officials and law enforcers. There were no civilian victims," the "Interfax" reports quoting the NAC's release.
