On October 27-November 2, three persons died in armed conflict in Northern Caucasus

During the week from October 27 to November 2, 2014, in the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus at least three persons were killed, and one was wounded. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

The death toll includes three suspects of involvement in the armed underground – two in Dagestan and one in Kabardino-Balkaria.

Attacks on law enforcers

On October 30, in the village of Dugulugbey, Baksan District of Kabardino-Balkaria, special agents tried to stop a Lada car. In response, the driver opened fire at FSB and MIA agents from a Kalashnikov submachine gun, and then threw several grenades at them. After that, while trying to escape, he rammed a police car, but was killed by power agents. In a shootout no one hurt, but one of the agents was injured in the ramming. In the car of the casualty, who had been earlier convicted, the agents found the submachine gun, ammunition and components for making improvised explosive devices (IEDs). Relatives identified the killed man as Islam Beshkurov.

On October 31 in Makhachkala, in Akushinsky Avenue, a shootout occurred, when policemen tried to check a man's documents, but he opened fire on them. In the course of the skirmish, policemen shot the assailant dead. The casualty was identified as Abdulkadi Guseinov, a member of the "Sogratl" militant grouping.

On November 1, on the road Makhachkala-Verkhniy Gunib, policemen tried to stop a car. In response to the demand to stop, the driver opened automatic fire on the policemen and was killed by return fire.

Special and counterterrorist operations

At night on October 28, in the Staropromyslovskiy District of Grozny, power agents conducted a number of "targeted" actions, during which young people were detained, as reported by their relatives. The detainees were beaten and tortured in an attempt to learn, where some wanted militant was hiding. Later, all the detainees were released.

Detentions

On October 27, law enforcement bodies of Dagestan reported detention of three residents of Makhachkala - Suleiman Musaev and Magomed Sirazhudinov, both 23 years old, and Akhmed Musaev, 25. According to investigators, in the period from May 2013 to 2014, they periodically helped members and leaders of the "Makhachkala" terrorist grouping Arslanali Kambulatov, Murad Kasumov, Ruslan Darsamov and others, by transporting them in their cars and providing them with foodstuffs, communication means and medicines.

On October 31, power agents cordoned off the mosque, located in Makhachkala, in Hungarian Fighters Street and tried to detain the mosque-goers. As a result, a brawl burst out of law enforcers with the parishioners. Policemen opened fire into the air, while believers, in an attempt to defend the detainees, turned a police Gazel van and three UAZ patrol cars over. Policemen fired tear gas, from which a minor fainted. As a result of the incident, five persons were detained.
