Volgograd Region: mother of many children states authorities' failure to address her housing problem
Nadezhda Kireeva, a mother of many children, has appealed to the prosecutor's office demanding to check the activities of the Volgograd Regional Government, which, in her opinion, has failed to fulfil its promise to pay her family's rental fee until the final solution of the family's housing problem.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that since September 30, mothers with many children from the Volgograd Region are holding pickets, trying to get a meeting with the Regional Governor Andrei Bocharov. They also held several protest actions in Moscow, seeking for social and housing assistance to large families.
On November 6, Nadezhda Kireeva, a mother of seven minor children, submitted her application to the prosecutor's office. The application states the non-fulfilment by the Regional Government of its promises.
"I have a letter of guarantee from the Government of the Volgograd Region of October 28, 2013, No. 4182, in which the Government undertook to pay the rental fee for the apartment, where our family lives, until the final solution of our housing problem," says the application addressed to the Regional Public Prosecutor Vladimir Churikov. "Since the Government of the Volgograd Region could not provide our family with housing, it has committed to pay the rental fee. Now, the new Government refuses to fulfil the obligations of their predecessors."
At the end of her application, Nadezhda Kireeva demanded to conduct a prosecutor's check.
