In 2014, 36 law enforcers were killed in NCFD, MIA reports
In 2014, in the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD) 36 law enforcers were killed while performing their official duties, including in special operations. This was reported on November 8 by Sergey Chenchik, the head of the Chief Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for the NCFD.
According to Sergey Chenchik, in 2014, other 119 law enforcers were injured in the territory of the NCFD.
"This year, in the territory of the NCFD, 36 law enforcers were killed, including 19 MIA staff members," Sergey Chenchik has stated as quoted by the website of the Chief Department of the Russian MIA for the NCFD on November.
Sergey Chenchik has also announced the information that since 2010, 576 law enforcers were killed while on duty in the NCFD, the "Interfax" reports.
According to Sergey Chenchik, the number of extremist and terrorist incidents in the NCFD is reducing; however, the operational situation still remains difficult.
