Vremenny residents report on truce in CTO zone
In Dagestan, residents of the village of Vremenny of the Untsukul District have reported on the long-term truce in the village. According to the villagers, there are no reasons to prolong the counterterrorism operation (CTO) regime. Local law enforcers have confirmed the information about the absence of incidents in the CTO zone.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that starting from September 18, a counterterrorist operation (CTO) is underway in Vremenny adjacent to the village of Gimry. At the very beginning of the special operation, law enforcers cordoned off the settlement of Vremenny. Most of the local residents left the village in the course of the special operation.
The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has been told by Aminat M., a resident of the village of Vremenny, that in general, the situation in the region is calm; however, the local residents are concerned over the continuation of the CTO regime. "Almost two months have passed, since the village of Vremenny is cordoned off. And all this time, we have to live away from our houses. In fact, we live on visits, and we are not aware what is happening to our property," the woman has said.
Aminat M. says that the local residents observe every movement of military vehicles with fear. "We are afraid that they will start a special operation and destroy our houses. Winter is just around the corner; and where should we go then? We cannot live on visits," the villager says.
Another resident of the village shares the woman's opinion. He has said that he sees no reason to continue the CTO regime. "The situation has been calm during more than two weeks already. Soldiers stay at their base or move to change their place. The local residents have repeatedly appealed to the CTO headquarters, which is now located in the territory of the village of Vremenny; however, to our regret, no one wants to meet us," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by a source who preferred to remain anonymous.
