MCC upholds arrest extension of ex-Mayor of Makhachkala Amirov
Today, the Moscow City Court (MCC) has dismissed the complaint lodged by the ex-Mayor of Makhachkala Said Amirov and his nephew Yusup Djaparov, convicted earlier for preparing a terror act, against the decision to extend their arrest under the murder case of Arsen Gadjibekov, an employee of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 9, the North-Caucasian District Military Court sentenced Said Amirov to 10, and his nephew Yusup Djaparov – to 8.5 years in a high security colony on charges of preparing a terror act. The defendants refused to plead guilty. According to investigators, Amirov was also involved in the murder of the investigator Arsen Gadjibekov, the head of one of the investigating divisions of Makhachkala, committed on December 14, 2011, in the city of Kaspiysk.
Amirov's arrest was extended in the context of Gadjibekov's murder case – the ex-Mayor is accused of organizing the crime, the RAPSI reports quoting the press service of the MCC.
