Rostov-on-Don: law enforcers search house of activist of "December 5 Party"
In Rostov-on-Don, the house of Boris Batyj, an activist of the Rostov branch of the "December 5 Party", has been searched, and several hard disks were seized. This was reported by Sergey Davidis, a staff member of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" and a member of the standing committee of the "December 5 Party".
Sergey Davidis has clarified that the search was a part of measures under the criminal case initiated against Boris Batyj for insulting policemen. According to Sergey Davidis, Boris Batyj "was imprudent enough to speak out roughly" in the Internet about policemen in connection with the criminal prosecution of Rostov journalist Sergey Reznik.
According to Sergey Davidis, policemen made several attempts to conduct a search in the house of Boris Batyj; however, they could not found him at home. On November 11, Boris Batyj was detained in the street and taken home for a search, the "OVD-Info" reports with reference to the human rights defender.
Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Boris Batyj was detained in Rostov-on-Don during the action for peace in Ukraine. The policemen's attention was drawn by the poster reading: "Putin, stop lying and fighting". Let us also remind you that in 2012, Boris Batyj was detained on the eve of the non-system opposition rally "For fair and legitimate power!"
